hey, i've played Shadowrun, D6 (WEG Games), Storyteller2 (Mage/Vampire), Palladium (Rifts), Storyteller3 (V3) and could play Earthdawn's system if i wanted to. but that's not a lot in the RPG world, and i'm wondering what systems would be easiest to learn (and for me to teach). i'm looking to get a couple of people into RPG who are totally new to it all, but i can't think of the systems in terms of this one's good to start with, that one isn't or even systems outside of those. any inputs? and this will be tabletop, not LARP.

My favourites are Shadowrun, Star Wars and Rifts. I used to like Marvel Super Heroes, but it's out of print. If you want something rediculously easy you should pick up the Monster Horrorshow. It's pretty silly, but it's actually a half-decent system that can be adapted to any genre. It requires a lot of imagination on the GM's part. If you want a generic system, you can't really go wrong with GURPS. I don't like using it as a GM, but when I'm a lowly p_layer_ it works out fine.

if you're aimng at TSR types, get 'em to download one of the Angbands. i've found a lot of incongruant references to angbands (a song by a band, working under microsoft angbands , PernAngband binaries, some type of AD&D related strategy game). could you be a little more specific. also, thanks for the other suggestions, keep the ideas comming, please.

type of AD&D related strategy game). could you be a little more specific. I take that all back about angband...I''ve thougt of something better..*NETHACK* www.nethack.org I'd just realised that angband uses a different AC method to AD&D-types. and SP...and... NetHack keeps to the rules fairly well. I think the song is an explanation for the quality of M$ $oŁtware.. if the in-house programmers are playing angband, that's account for the late and undercooked state of M$ software. I'd write more, but I'm full o'pancake.. DJNW

SR3, huh? Yes, shadowrun is a great game. It is the first one I ever learned, and the only game for which I own the rulebook.
